The 2020 Best Places to Work in PA awards ranked Diamond Credit Union 12th among mid-sized companies. This is the fifth consecutive year Diamond has earned a spot in the Top 100.
The Top 100 is comprised of 43 small, 30 mid and 27 large companies. Rankings for Best Places to Work in PA were determined via survey by non-profit Team Pennsylvania, the Central Penn Business Journal and the Pennsylvania Department of Community & Economic Development. The rankings were announced on December 3.
With cow bells, maracas and smiles behind their masks members of Diamond management react to being named the 12th among Best Places to work in PA.
The state-wide awards ceremony, typically held at a central location, was held virtually this year. Organizers created an impressive digital stage, complete with video and a buzzing social media feed, that was on par with a live television awards show to keep winners, organizers and sponsors energized.
Governor Tom Wolf addressed the 1,100 viewers to kick the show off. He commended businesses for their resilience and ability to adapt in what has been a year like no other. Surprise guests included actors Oscar Nunez (Oscar Martinez, The Office), Jim O’Heir (Mayor Jerry Gergich, Parks and Recreation) and superstar TV host Tom Bergeron. They offered both congratulations, words of encouragement and of course humor.
“Being among the Best Places to Work in PA is always special, and we believe, shines through in our service,” said John Faust, President and CEO of Diamond Credit Union. “It takes on more meaning than ever this year as all businesses have had to make adjustments to how they operate. I’m so proud of our team, they have made so much happen.”
Diamond’s 180-plus person workforce, like many others, made adjustments for Covid-19. Remote work, appointment service, increased drive-thru traffic, increased phone calls, coaching more members on how to use digital banking, masks, increased cleaning and sanitation and much more were all new in 2020. Throughout these changes the care, service, culture and atmosphere never wavered from the previous four years Diamond won a Best Places to Work award.
