Anyone who lives, works, worships, regularly conducts business or attends school in Berks County and the Tri-County Region is eligible to join Diamond Credit Union. To be a member and take advantage of our full menu of products and services, a $5 deposit into a membership account is required. This is not a fee. If you were to ever close your membership with Diamond Credit Union, your $5 would be returned. Yes! The National Credit Union Association (the strongest of the federal insurance funds) insures your funds with Diamond Credit Union up to $250,000.
Banks have shareholders who receive portions of what a financial institution makes from its customers in the form of fees and interest paid. Credit Unions are not-for-profit and are governed by a volunteer Board of Directors who are elected by credit union membership. We are members helping members. Every dollar a Credit Union makes above the cost of operations is returned to the members in lower loan rates, higher interest rates and lower fees.
Since the existence of Diamond Credit Union, we were considered a Select Employer Group Credit Union, meaning that, only the employees and family members of businesses that associated with Diamond were eligible to join. With a Community Charter, these restrictions no longer apply. Now, any person who lives, works, worships, regularly conducts business or attends school in Berks County and the Tri-County Region is eligible to join Diamond regardless of their place of employment.
You can apply for a loan with Diamond Credit Union at any time. Even if you are currently not a member, you can apply with us as you “shop around” and if you choose to finance with us, we can make you a member at that time. Click here to learn more about all our lending options.
There is no waiting. Once you set up your merchant information, you can make a payment to that merchant instantly.
It doesn’t matter. Diamond does not charge you for using debit or credit for your transactions. It is just a matter of preference.
Electronic Statements are a free service of Diamond Credit Union. To be an Electronic Statement user you must have a valid email address on file and be registered for NetBranch.
Note: Remember to update your email settings in NetBranch if you change your email address anytime after registering.

If you are a NetBranch user, you can request your Skip-A-Payment right online. Log in to NetBranch, click the “All Services” tab, and select the Skip-A-Pay icon. Eligible loans will appear in your dropdown menu and you are able to skip each loan one time, per year and a fee of $30 applies to the skip-a-payment of each loan. Payment Advantage, mortgage and interest-only home equity loans, and Diamond Mastercards are not eligible for Skip-a-Payment. Other restrictions and conditions may apply.
You can check your activity directly through NetBranch by choosing the “All Services” tab then clicking the Mastercard icon.
