The Diamond Charitable Foundation raised $57,000 for Relay For Life through the John M. Faust Charity Golf Invitational that was held on Friday, June 9, at Golden Oaks Golf Club in Fleetwood, Pa.
This was the 18th tournament that the Credit Union held, and this year, Diamond employees and volunteers raised money in remembrance of Diamond teammate, Paul Yacobowsky.
Diamond Credit Union’s retired President and CEO, John Faust, spoke about Paul as he welcomed golfers.
“If you didn’t have the pleasure of knowing Paul, just know that he never had a bad day. He was always smiling and bringing joy to those around him,” Faust said.
Yacobowsky’s wife, Tammy, and daughter, Hope, joined Diamond at the Golf Invitational to present the newly dedicated golf ball cannons that display Yacobowsky’s signature. Yacobowsky’s daughter, Grace, was unable to attend.

Golfing for Relay For Life
There were 222 golfers that joined Diamond volunteers on the course. Participants were split between an AM and PM golf session, and they had the opportunity to partake in extra events throughout the course.
There was a putting green contest where winners were entered into a 50/50 raffle, an opportunity to fire off the golf ball cannon, a hole in one contest and more. There were also 15 raffle prizes that golfers could enter to win. Proceeds from the ticket sales were an additional donation to Relay For Life.
Thank You for Your Support
The Foundation received enough donations to create 15 raffle baskets, and there were over 70 sponsors for this year’s tournament.
“We have an incredible community and support system here,” Diamond’s President and CEO, Rick Patel said. “This is the second tournament that I have been a part of, and it is truly amazing to see how many people come together to support Relay For Life. I can’t say thank you enough to our sponsors, participants and volunteers.”
