Diamond Credit Union, Redner’s Warehouse Market, and many generous local businesses and families sponsored the second annual Adalyn Rose Foundation Duck Derby, which took place on Sunday, August 24 at Jim Dietrich Park during Muhlenberg Township’s Riverfest.
This year, the Adalyn Rose Foundation (ARF) successfully raised over $50,000 to support families in the local community. The ARF provides free support to families coping with the loss of a baby or young child. Proceeds from this year’s Duck Derby will fund ARF’s comprehensive care program providing access to workshops for couples, support groups, and individual therapy. They also provide bereavement training, remembrance carts, memorials, care packages, and host community events.
“At Diamond, we’re committed to supporting and strengthening our local communities,” Diamond’s Vice President of Member Experience Chelsea Fry said. “Through events like the splash-tacular Duck Derby fundraiser, we’re able to bring the community together to raise money that supports families through difficult times.”
Diamond Credit Union, Redner’s Warehouse Markets, and the ARF sold ducks online, in person, and at the event. Diamond branches were able to sell 641 of the 2,225 rubber ducks that went bobbing down the Schuylkill River. There were a total of 15 winners receiving prizes from a $100 Redner’s Gift Card to $1,000 cash.
Chelsea added, “We were thrilled to be presenting sponsors for this great event, alongside Redner’s Warehouse Market. Thank you to everyone that donated, adopted ducks, or attended to support this incredible event.”
