The Diamond Charitable Foundation Donates $57,000 to Relay For Life Through 20th Charity Golf Invitational
The Diamond Charitable Foundation raised $57,000 for Relay For Life through the John M. Faust Charity Golf Invitational that was held on Friday, June 6, at Golden Oaks Golf Club in Fleetwood, Pa.
“The Charity Golf Invitational is such a special event. It unites our community, our volunteers and our local businesses for a cause that impacts so many lives,” Diamond Credit Union’s President/CEO, Rick Patel said. “To raise $57,000 through this one event is a phenomenal achievement. I’m incredibly proud of the teamwork and heart that went into making it a success. I’m truly thankful for the unwavering support from our community to make the 20th year of this tournament so special.”
A Day of Fun
Diamond Credit Union volunteers were joined by about 200 golfers over the course of the AM and PM sessions.
Golfers could also make a ten dollar donation on the putting green to play to win wine or T-Roth’s Cherry Bombs. The bottles were placed around the putting green and golfers took a shot from a designated tee. If they hit one of the bottles, they took it home with them.
On hole 11, Diamond enlisted the help of a professional Long Drive Hitter, Scott Kalamar. Kalamar hit the golf ball for participants and players could play from wherever the shot landed. He has participated in three World Long Drive Championships with his longest drive being 456 yards.
There were also 22 raffle prizes that golfers could purchase tickets for. The prizes included: a pink wheelbarrow, Flyers tickets, a refrigerator, an Eagles basket, a wine basket, a spirits basket, several coolers and more. All of the items were donated by various supporters of The Diamond Charitable Foundation and Relay For Life.
Thank You
While this event seems to go by fast, it is made possible through the months of planning of Diamond volunteers, sponsors and participants that support The Diamond Charitable Foundation’s John M. Faust Charity Golf Invitational.
“I’m so grateful for everyone who helped bring The Diamond Charitable Foundation’s John M. Faust Golf Invitational to life, ” Patel said. “Whether you shared it with your friends, joined us on the course, were one of our 57 generous sponsors, or you worked behind the scenes to plan it, your support means the world. We’re making a real impact and bringing hope through Relay For Life.”
