Members, branches help communities

Two Diamond Credit Union branches want to express their gratitude to the many members that helped make a difference in their communities during the month of February.
Staff at Diamond’s flagship branch in Pottstown organized a drive to collect items for the Ricketts Center. Area youth that rely on the Center’s before and after school programs are now benefiting from over 75 board games, card games, soccer balls, volleyballs and basketballs that were generously donated by members and staff and delivered by Diamonds’ team.

“Volunteer opportunities are not what they were prior to 2020,” said Tara Diefenderfer, Manager of the Pottstown branch. “However, being able to give back to the community that we serve remains a top priority.”
Member’s community spirit was also on display in February at Diamond’s Wyomissing branch. The Wyomissing team organized an eyeglass drive they dubbed, for more than one reason, “Seeing a Brighter 2021.” Members and staff donated 244 pairs of gently used eyeglasses and prescription sunglasses. The glasses were given to the Lions Club Recycle for Sight Program to be distributed in our community.
“Not everyone can afford glasses or to keep their prescription up to date,” said Erica Mutter, Manager of the Wyomissing branch. “The Lions Club has a long history of making a huge impact to those that need help.”
In March, Diamond is collecting new socks to benefit Reading Hospital’s A4 Podiatry Clinic. Socks are being accepted at all Diamond branch drive-thrus.
