Diamond Credit Union Volunteers in Action for Q1
Diamond Credit Union’s volunteers believe in the power of community and giving back. Throughout the first three months of 2025, dedicated Diamond volunteers have stepped up for meaningful causes to make a difference. From local food drives and fundraisers to hands on service projects, the Diamond team has been out in full force. Keep reading for insight into this season of service and teamwork.
Volunteers at Financial Reality Fairs
Diamond Credit Union has participated in financial reality fairs along with other local credit unions for over ten years. At these fairs, volunteers visit high schools and go over financial topics with students to give them an idea of what bills they may need to pay after graduation.
Students are given theoretical incomes based off the field of work they intend to go into after high school. They then go to different stations for topics like housing, insurance, food costs, cell phone bills, loans, food, clothing, and more. At the end, financial counselors at the fair will go over their total expenses compared to their income, and inform students if they need to reevaluate their spending.
Between January, February and March, members of the Diamond team attended fairs at Coventry Christian Schools, Muhlenberg High School, Schuylkill Valley High School and Hamburg High School.
Sock Drive to Benefit Tower Health Reading Hospital’s A4 Podiatry Clinic
Diamond’s Tower Health branch has collected socks for the Reading Hospital’s A4 Podiatry clinic every year since 2021. This year, all Diamond branches collected socks to benefit the clinic. Thank you to everyone that donated. Your donation helps provide comfort to patients.
Relay For Life Hot Dog Days
Diamond branches have hosted hot dog days several times since the start of the 2024-2025 Relay For Life season. So far for 2025, the Boyertown branch and the Exeter branch have held Hot Dog Days to raise money for Relay For Life. Team members sell hot dogs for one dollar and raise awareness for the organization. Keep an eye on Diamond’s social media to see when the next Hot Dog Day will be and what branch will have it.
Operation 143 Food Drive & Volunteer Event
Operation 143 is a nonprofit organization that provides food to students whom would go without over the weekend. The organization works to help homeless and food insecure students by addressing childhood hunger.
The Boyertown, Pottstown and Royersford branch teams all collected food to benefit Operation 143 in January. Volunteers also helped fill backpacks that were sent home with students.
“The year has only just begun, and our team is already making a meaningful impact,” Diamond Credit Union President/ CEO Rick Patel said. “I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve accomplished so far and even more excited for what’s ahead. Thank you to everyone who supports our mission; together, we’re making a difference.”
