Diamond in the Community: United Way Day of Caring, Trail Clean Up and More

United Way Day of Caring

Several Diamond volunteers spent the day in Reading, Pa. on September 13 for United Way’s Day of Caring. This year, volunteers helped Hannah’s Hope Ministries, which is an organization that offers transitional housing and support to homeless mothers with children.

Diamond volunteers painted doors and trim and helped with landscaping to help make the homes more comfortable for the families that Hannah’s Hope assists.

NAMI’s It’s Okay to Not be Okay 5k

Diamond employees participated in the National Alliance on Mental Illness’s (NAMI) It’s Okay to Not be Okay 5k Run/Walk on September 9. NAMI is dedicated to bettering the lives of Americans that are impacted by mental illness.

This 5k supports the Diamond Wellness Committee’s initiative to help employees focus on both their physical and mental health.

Muhlenberg Township’s 2023 RiverFest

Diamond’s Muhlenberg and Wyomissing branch were out in the community at the 2023 RiverFest on August 26. The team handed out giveaway items and had the chance to talk to community members.

Schuylkill River Trail Clean Up

On August 12, Diamond volunteers met at a portion of the Schuylkill River Trail to help clean the trail. Volunteers picked up trash and pulled weeds to help Schuylkill River Greenways National Heritage Area maintain the area.

School Supply Donation to Millmont Elementary School

The Tower Health-Reading Hospital branch donated school supplies to Millmont Elementary School located in Reading, Pa. for the 2023-2024 school year. This school is part of Reading School District.
