The Diamond Credit Union Team had many opportunities to impact local community organizations in the beginning of 2024. Employees served meals to the homeless, held collection drives, and volunteered. Keep reading to see what the Diamond Team was up to.
Prepared and Served Meals for Opportunity House
The Exeter Team purchased food and brought it to Opportunity House in Reading, Pa. on March 23. They prepared meals and then served it to shelter residents. Opportunity House is an emergency shelter that helps people overcome homelessness and personal challenges.
Mascot Madness at the Reading Royals
Diamond’s mascot, Chip, visited the Reading Royals to participate in the organization’s Mascot Madness Night on March 23. Chip took pictures with hockey fans of all ages and had fun with other mascots including Screwball from the Fightin’ Phils.

Sock Drive for Reading Hospital’s A4 Podiatry Clinic
The Reading Hospital branch collected socks from January to March to benefit Reading Hospital’s A4 Podiatry Clinic. The Clinic helps patients with foot and ankle injuries and works towards having patients walk without pain. They were able to donate almost 2,000 pairs of socks to help the patients of the clinic.
Food Drives to Benefit Operation 143 and Pottstown Cluster of Religious Communities
The Boyertown, Royersford and Pottstown branches all held food drives to benefit local organizations. The Boyertown and Royersford branches teamed up to collect goods for Operation 143, and the Pottstown branch collected food for Pottstown Cluster of Religious Communities. The Pottstown branch collected 259 pounds of food.
Operation 143 provides food to students who suffer from food insecurities. The organization sends children home with a backpack full of food every weekend, and provides food to homeless children. Pottstown Cluster of Religious Communities provides everything from food and basic needs, to spiritual guidance and self-sufficiency programs to improve the lives of those in the Greater Pottstown area.
Assisted Good Samaritan Services of Phoenixville
On March 4, the Royersford Team spent their Saturday assisting Good Samaritan Services. They helped the organization repaint one of its short-term rental properties. Good Samaritan Services helps to bring people from crisis to stability by providing housing, food, necessities and counseling services.

Financial Reality Fairs
Diamond teammates from a variety of branches and departments participated in several Financial Reality Fairs between January and March. Financial Reality Fairs are events held at local high schools that bring in employees from several local credit unions to teach students about financial literacy. The Diamond Team has volunteered at the following high schools and has plans to help out at more: Hamburg, Governor Mifflin, Schuylkill Valley and Muhlenberg.
